Thank you for visiting this website. I am honored to have served as your representative to the Georgia House of Representatives. I thank you for that opportunity.

2012 Election  
I now ask for your continued support in the 2012 election cycle, by electing me to serve you as your State Representative, I can assure you that your voice will continue to be heard. I am a lifelong resident of the State of Georgia and a seventeen years resident of Clayton County. I believe in Clayton County and its residents. I am proud to live in Jonesboro and what I believe to be, one of the finest counties in the great State of Georgia.

In order to build on our greatness we must band together and elect strong leadership. We must elect a leader who is committed to working with our county government and city officials; a leader with the ability to build consensus and collaboration. As State Legislators, we have a responsibility to all residents of the State of Georgia, but we must as a priority and obligation focus on the issues specific to and concerning Clayton County. I am such a Leader.

Clayton County deserve a leader who is focused on bringing jobs to our community; strengthening our educational system; increasing revenue sources for our transportation needs; building our economy and taking care of our brave men and women in our Military forces who have served and are serving from our community.

We must work harder at attracting new businesses, while retaining those we have; we must help with funding for our University Science Program; we must work harder to build a skilled workforce. We must create an environment where business can thrive enhancing our residents’ chances to find jobs that will allow them to save their homes, buy new homes, cars, and pay increased cost for educating their children.

We must find a way to reduce the tax burdens on those who comply with the rules/laws and increase investigations and prosecution of those who don’t. While we have little influence over the fluxuation of gas prices, we do have the authority and recourse to go after those who take advantage of hard times and choose to gouge our residents. We must exercise that authority.

I have served my country, state, county and community for over 35 years as a public servant and I am prepared to do the hard work! Clayton County and Georgia deserve better. Because Clayton County deserves better, we need Mike Glanton. My name is Mike Glanton; I look forward to serving you in the Georgia House of Representatives.
